Rota Palagruzona 2010.
After 74 years Rota Palagruzona, the historical regatta of traditional ships, was finally revived by Ars Haleutica, the maritime heritage foundation from Komiža, Vis Island, over the week of 21st to 25th June, 2010.
(Photo Joško Poduje) This unique regatta was conceived as an event by which Ars Haleutica confirms its continuing investigation, protection and promotion of Croatian maritime heritage. Previously the foundation has brought Croatian maritime heritage to worldwide festivals such as EXPO 98 in Lisbon in 1998, Promediterrania in Palamňsu (Spain), the Celebration of Seas and Oceans in Dubrovnik 2000, Fęte internationale de la mer et des marins in Brest in 2000, 2004 and 2008 and Regata Storica in Venetia 2005 and 2006.
On 4th September, 2009 Rota Palagruzona was established, and this year the three legs of the regatta were completed for the first time: from Hvar to Vis, from Vis to Komiža and from Komiža to Palagruža.
